~ Sunbolt ~

The winding streets and narrow alleys of Karolene hide many secrets, and Hitomi is one of them. Orphaned at a young age, Hitomi has learned to hide her magical aptitude and who her parents really were. Most of all, she must conceal her role in the Shadow League, an underground movement working to undermine the powerful and corrupt Arch Mage Wilhelm Blackflame.

When the League gets word that Blackflame intends to detain—and execute—a leading political family, Hitomi volunteers to help the family escape. But there are more secrets at play than Hitomi’s, and much worse fates than execution. When Hitomi finds herself captured along with her charges, it will take everything she can summon to escape with her life.

~ The Power of Word of Mouth ~

Reviews make the world go round for indie authors--actually, no. Reviews are just the tangible evidence of something much cooler, much, much more awesome, and possibly the sort of thing that makes the universe sing: the power of word-of-mouth. We really need a better name for that, but there you go. So, this is a huge THANK YOU to the early reviewers, and an advance Thank You to anyone who goes on to read and review Sunbolt as well, and talk about it with friends, and gift it to their grandmas (or friends). You make my universe sing.

~ Early Reviews ~

"Sunbolt is just beautiful -- exciting, endearing, full of amazing dialogue and heart-rending moments." -- Ann F., GoodReads review 5/7/2013

"The storyline was full of action, and Hitomi really did go through a lot during this story. Even when she was the smallest person there, she had the biggest character, and even when she found herself in several difficult situations, she always had a plan to change things for the better." - Sarah, GoodReads review 6/17/2013

~ Celebrate And Give ~

nurturetheearth_trialThis week, look out for some awesome book bloggers who will be talking about causes that concern them. Wait, what? "A Cause for Concern" is an internet event that celebrates the release. Sunbolt tells the story of Hitomi, a young woman with a propensity to play hero when people need saving, and her nemesis, a dark mage slowly amassing power in a bid to control the Eleven Kingdoms. Stories often have an issue at their heart, however big or small, global or personal. This week offers a chance for bloggers (and readers) who love stories to share the issues that are close to their hearts.

What do you wish you could change in the world? Join in and blog about what you care about as well. Visit one of the blogs below to get the rafflecopter code, or just drop me a note at

Check out these amazing bloggers, and enter to win a $100 donation to a non-profit or charity of your choice! There are also some neat additional prizes including a signed "Cause for Concern" art print  (pictured here) about caring for and nurturing our environment by author and artist T.L. Shreffler, as well as signed books by best-selling authors.
